About The Bentley Group The Bentley Group came to life in March 2006 when chef Brent Savage and sommelier Nick Hildebrandt opened Bentley Restaurant Bar in Surry Hills. Bentley was a new kind of restaurant for Sydney, with food that could challenge and inspire, but in a relaxed atmosphere and with an eclectic selection of wines not offered anywhere else. In 2013 Bentley Restaurant and Bar moved to a bigger, grander space at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sydney’s CBD.
The Bentley Group established its second venue, Monopole, in Potts Point in December 2012. Yellow was the group’s third venue, launched in August 2013 and offers vegetarian and vegan dining in the heart of Potts Point. The Group’s fourth venue, Cirrus, was established on the waterfront at Barangaroo in September 2016, specialising in contemporary, sustainably caught seafood dishes and like the other venues has an extensive and eclectic wine list.
About The Role Our Accountant will support our finance team and the Directors. Some of your key tasks will include: Reconcile weekly restaurant cash ups Ensure creditor invoices are authorised and accurately entered into the financial system in a timely manner Upload EFT files into banking software system and review to ensure accuracy Maintain bank and credit card accounts and ensure entries are processed and reconciled in a timely and efficient manner Maintain Deposits and Gift Vouchers records and ensure entries are processed and reconciled in a timely and efficient manner Reconcile Creditors Trial balance and General ledger on a monthly basis Prepare Management Accounts (Balance Sheet and P&L) Prepare Weekly and Monthly P&L Analysis reporting, providing insight to the Directors on key business drivers such as sales and direct costs Prepare budget, forecast and cash flow reporting Prepare year end statutory accounts, workpapers and tax reconciliations for external accountant/tax agent Maintain employee master file details in system in a timely, confidential manner Prepare payroll based on employee contracts and authorised timesheet / leave adjustments Prepare payroll tax returns including annual reconciliations Prepare Activity Statements Assist with ensuring all available government subsidies are being claimed Assist with tenant revenue reporting to landlords for each restaurant Maintaining internal control systems Liaising with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangements and maintain banking relationships Introducing and maintaining accounting systems, and advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems, eg accounts payable automation & approval system Maintaining corporate secretarial records Other ad hoc projects and tasks (eg new restaurant openings or refurbishments) About You If this is the right role for you, it is essential that you bring a strong working history in a financial role.
