The Organisation Our client is a large federal government department that develops and implements policies and programs that minimise our environmental impact and advocate for cultural heritage and environmental protection. In addition, they manage biosecurity risk to the country and ensure safe trade and market access for plants and animals fuelling farming, research and industry. The Opportunity You will join a team establishing a brand-new Program Management Office within the Corporate Division. With a $400 million budget over the next 3 to 4 years , this new function will transform the way the department rolls out and manages priority programs with the aim of: Kickstarting the economy (with a particular focus on increasing agricultural exports) Implementing strategic reform with new business process design and systems Engaging strategic partners and consulting firms more effectively Establishing capability to manage legislative changes occurring within the sector Creating tools and capability to manage cultural change across the department The Role There are 20 x 6-12 month contracts available across a range of levels (APS5-EL2) and specialties: Business planning (corporate plans, business design, performance reporting) Program management Project management Risk management Change management Contract management Governance Assurance Procurement These positions are required to start ASAP (late December / early to mid-January). Your Background and Experience The ideal candidates at the APS5/6 levels will have experience in one or more of the areas listed above from within federal government.
You will also have the following key capabilities: Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing, and have demonstrated skills in influencing outcomes Learn new concepts quickly and contribute to managing change Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy and dynamic environment Ability to think strategically in terms of helping to shape the team's work Capacity to solve problems and develop innovative solutions Salary / Rate APS5: $48 - $53/hr 9.5% Super APS6: $54 - $65/hr 9.5% Super 20 contracts available 6 to 12 month contracts Start ASAP (late December / early to mid-January) Extension options available Potential to be made permanent How to Apply To apply online, please click on the appropriate link.
