Managing Director
The Client: Courage for Peace Pty Ltd is a start-up production company operating in the film, media, and television production sector. They are based in Sydney city and are looking for an experienced and well-connected Managing Director to helm the Australian operations. The Role: The incumbent would be experienced in film, music, and media production ideally in social justice, and trauma healing.
The successful applicant will become an integral part of the business and should be self-motivated, experienced, well-connected and able to lead a small team. It is for a full time role with an annual salary depending on experience, plus superannuation. The Responsibilities: Developing, executing and reviewing current and future business strategies to attain business goals and objectives Creating and implementing business plans to set business goals and objectives and to facilitate their achievement Responsible for organisational development, setting staffing levels, budgets, strategic goals and operational priorities Responsible for the financial management of project futures, including budget management and the undertaking of regular risk management, SWOT analysis, and implementing strategies to prevent and deal with perceived risks Presenting productions and proposals to stakeholders and maintaining positive and trust-based relations with potential business partners Delegating duties and responsibilities to all media staff whilst providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance Monitoring and evaluating the performance of staff members against their goals Ensuring the organisation and its mission, programs and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders Ensuring company policies and legal guidelines are communicated throughout company lines and that they are observed by all employees Representing the organisation for external and internal media related activities and events The Requirements: Demonstrated commercial acumen to understand the dynamics of a complex and evolving film, media and television industry Proven experience as Managing Director or other managerial position of at least 4 years Excellent organisational and leadership skills Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities Detail oriented, ability to multitask, work independently and prioritise tasks.
