IMT Capability Support OfficersState Emergency Service Victoria
WHO WE ARE: Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities.
We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events. As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.

VICSES offers Flexible Working Arrangements and where possible, Job Sharing may also be considered. ROLE SUMMARY: IMT duties require the completion of relevant courses, development and enhancement of skills and knowledge and experience in order to be accredited and endorsed to undertake the defined roles. Mentoring is part of VICSES commitment to assist in development of members to support the transition into IMT roles.
The VICSES IMT Accreditation Panel has resolved that Regional Managers (Assistant Chief Officers) should identify volunteers and staff members in their Region to be developed for IMT roles. These roles will play a critical and active role in linking our staff and volunteers to IMT role pathways and helping develop their IMT progression plans. These roles will have significant liaison with Regional Managers and their delegates as well as the Manager Operational Capability.
Occasional weekend work as required to suit volunteer engagement. Position A will: - Support Victoria Head Office, State Logistics Centre, the State Support Unit, South West, Mid West and North West Regions, and - May be based in Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo or Sunshine Office. Position B will: - Support North East, East and Central Regions, and - May be based in Benalla, Moe, Mulgrave or Sunshine Office.
