Project Officer - Strategic Planning
Department of Environment, Land, Water and PlanningThe Project Officer – Strategic Planning will support and implement the delivery of high-quality strategic planning services in the Roads and Fixed Assets unit within the Forest and Fire Assets Branch. The purpose of this role is to support and implement service excellence in delivering strategic planning services, including supporting the identification of planning requirements and development and coordination of insurance claims processes for recovery events relating to the replacement of bridges, crossings, road works and other fixed assets on public land, providing guidance to policy setting, implementing planning processes to state wide application ensuring compliance with legislation and supporting development and management of relationships with stakeholders. Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications Tertiary qualification or relevant experience in natural resource management or civil works field.
Experience in the planning and delivery of civil works or similar in a public land management setting. Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and management procedures relating to road management on public land. Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to facilitate dialogue and to understand and adapt to different situations.
Ability to use a range of computer software applications for developing spreadsheets, word processing and emails as well as experience with GIS / Mapping programs is desirable. This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2023.
