Part-time applicants considered. About the facility The Social Work Department provides services to a wide range of clinical areas. This role incorporates an inpatient focused role (3 days per week based at McKellar Centre) as well as an outpatient Motor Neurone Disease (MND) specialist clinic role (2 days per week based at Belmont Community Rehabilitation Centre).
The three days of this role based at Barwon Health's McKellar Centre is located only minutes from the centre of Geelong. The centre offers a range of rehabilitation services that enable people to make a dynamic recovery. It is a 100 bed inpatient facility offering rehabilitation.
The two days of this role within the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Clinic based at Belmont Community Rehabilitation Centre is an outpatient service within a specialist clinic with a neuro-palliative approach to care. About the role We are seeking applications from experienced Grade 2 Social Workers. This opportunity will provide a highly motivated Social Worker to have a unique opportunity to gain experience across two different settings.
The role provides an opportunity to be part of two highly skilled, professional, friendly teams who take pride in providing high quality service. The position could combine the two roles for those interested in a full time role or split into part time roles. Comprehensive orientation will be provided, access to professional development and supervision is available.
To be successful in this role you must have: The demonstrated ability to manage a complex caseload The ability to work effectively as part of multidisciplinary team Effective time management Excellent communication and interpersonal aptitudes. Experience in managing inpatients and outpatients A high level of commitment to best practice in patient care. An excellent understanding of the continuum of care and a broad range of clinical skills Successful applicant/s will have a record or providing high quality patient care and optimal organisational outcomes and will work collaboratively under the supervision of the Clinical Lead Social Worker in IRC and Care Coordinator in MND Clinic.
