Lead Tunnel Engineer
This role will lead a team of employees and consultants and provide direction, advice and support on Tunnel Engineering aspects. The role of Lead Tunnel Engineer is responsible for: Maintaining the highest standard of health and safety performance; implementing safety plans, exhibiting behaviors consistent with the Snowy Hydro Values, leading by example with colleagues, team members; and acting as an engaged active client in accordance with SHL Health & Safety policies. Leading, managing, coaching and developing tunnel engineering team members to deliver project objectives, achieve individual performance and development goals; applying Snowy's Values, policies and performance & development processes.
Maintaining/improving the engagement and wellbeing of the Engineering team and direct reports through proactive people leadership practices. Utilising flexible interpersonal style and appropriate leadership behaviours to collaborate with all project stakeholders, constructively resolving conflict and maintaining effective working relationships. A suitable applicant for the role will possess the following attributes and experience: Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or similar field satisfying the eligibility requirements for Corporate Membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, manage, coach and influence direct and indirect team members 15 years experience in a similar role on large scale, complex, high risk infrastructure projects with underground and tunnelling works involving Tunnel Boring Machine and drill & blast excavation.
