Registered Nurse

POET'S CORNER MEDICAL CENTRE Registered Nurse , Medical Centre Position Title: Registered Nurse Employment Type: Full Time The hours are 9 am - 5pm Monday to Friday Salary: $55,000 to $59,753 Opportunity An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and highly motivated Registered Nurse seeking a permanent position with the Poets Corner Medical Centre based in Redfern. The Medical Centre is an extremely busy facility as it caters to the medical needs of indigent people, across a multitude of ethnicities including those of Aboriginal origins, in the area of Redfern, NSW and beyond. Role / Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will be a vital member of the team.

Liaises with the multi-disciplinary healthcare team to provide co-ordinated outpatient and inpatient treatments: hospitals, emergency services, specialist doctors, community health centres, aged care assessment teams, home visiting services to provide the care our patients require Manage the clinical environment by assisting the general practice to meet relevant standards and legislative requirements in Infection control, cold chain monitoring, records management, occupational health and safety, accreditation processes, sterilisation, risk management and quality improvement as well as practice management support. Performing clinical roles such as: triage with emergency procedures, acute assessment of sick patients, ECG, medication administration, suture removal, assistance with minor procedures, wound management, removal of plaster casts and synthetic casts, ear syringing, spirometry, BSL, urinalysis, child and adult Vaccinations, health assessment and care plans, treatment room & stock Management, promote health and preventative care Requirements Unrestricted Nurse Registration with AHPRA 2 years full-time post grad experience in past 5 years in an acute healthcare setting. Previous experience working as a Registered Nurse within a primary care setting Strong verbal and written English communication skills Excellent communication skills with patients, families and the General Practice Team.
