Research Economist / Path to Leadership

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated research economist to help continue to grow our business. Business Description Bass Capital is a leading provider of capital to Australian mid-sized developers and real estate transactions with a focus on credit investments. Bass has rapidly built an outstanding track record of returns to investors and delivery to clients, which has led to organic expansion of the business and the opportunity for a senior executive to join the deal team.

We originate, evaluate and structure transactions, and provide bespoke capital solutions to mid-market property companies. Key Responsibilities and Tasks · Structuring of property credit deals based on the valuation of commercial, residential, industrial and retail properties · Valuation of property investments considering macroeconomic trends, sub-market analysis and future cash flow · Extensive research and reparation of reports to be presented to the company’s investment committee specifying deal conditions such as financials, valuation of the property that will assist with the assessment of the opportunity · Manage portfolio of active deals including analysis of construction reports, analysis of sales reports, market insights, monitoring of the deal cashflow · Research valuation of property investments, considering the effects of macroeconomic trends such as interest rates, monetary policy, banking regulation and economic growth with property supply, demand and prices Key Knowledge and Experience · Minimum tertiary qualification, preferably in finance, business, economics or property · Minimum 5 years of work experience in the role or similar with demonstrably transferable skills, preferably within the property and banking industry · A career which demonstrates rapid advancement, initiative, independence and creativity · High analytical and problem-solving capability with strong attention to detail, complemented with intellectual curiosity and a growth mindset · Ability to lead and collaborate with a multi disciplinary team to source, deliver, execute and manage new investment opportunities · Extensive experience in transaction structuring and funds management · Independent strong decision making skills and ability to identify risks with reasonable solutions provided Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $75,000.00 – $112,174.
