Our vision is to serve the community through excellence in care, teaching and research and to reach out to the poor and the marginalised The Opportunity We currently have a full time opportunity available for a for a Infection Prevention and Control Clinical Nurse Consultant to provide effective leadership and coordination of infection prevention and control practices to ensure compliance with legislative and accreditation standards and best practice guidelines. Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to): To ensure all patient care delivered is done so within the scope of practice To promote good patient care and outcomes Liaise with nursing staff and medical officers to ensure optimal care delivery with any infection control protocols Clinically manage oneself and others, to create a transformational leadership environment. Resource for infection control care guidelines and policy Audits to compliance with Standard 3 of National Accreditation Standards Coordinates Hand Hygiene Audit cycle and reporting Coordinates infection control scorecards for key committees and supports governance framework Updates policies and plans as required Participate in internal audits related to infection control Assists with Staff health queries and immunization status Oversees education program for staff About you To be successful, you must possess the following: Bachelor of Nursing and Tertiary qualification in Infection Control Management Minimum 5 years clinical experience in specialty area Previous experience in senior clinical role Qualified Immunization Certificate Excellent written & oral communication skills.
Demonstrated time management and ability to prioritise Demonstrated Computer skills and experience with patient management systems Ability to write reports and collate data Demonstrated Leadership skills Essential requirements: In accordance to guidelines set by NSW Health, all SVPHS employees are required to have up to date vaccinations before commencement. It is encouraged that you ensure your vaccinations are current ahead of time as you may be requested to provide documentation at interview stage. Criminal record checks will be conducted and will form part of the selection criteria for this role.
