The Company Our client retails and distributes market-leading brands and products which are known and loved for their quality and competitive prices by consumers throughout Australia and the world. This private equity owned company works predominantly in e-commerce, retail and distribution and continues to acquire companies and improve and establish their corporate function. The Role This is a role which will overlook and focus on the management/statutory reporting and of the company.
In addition to the month end/auditing reporting and day-to-day function, the role will involve reporting into a corporate function which consolidates this to the private equity. Apart from your day-to-day responsibilities you will have the opportunity to engage in projects that will stimulate business growth. Reporting into the GM of finance your main responsibilities will include.
Manage group monthly reporting deadlines Review monthly financial figures for all business units and ensure accuracy of results Delivering the group consolidation of the different national entities Prepare consolidated statutory reports and tax effect accounting whilst leading the Group audit process Develop, implement and monitor Accounting Policies and Procedures Responsible for all ongoing Group compliance under all legal and regulatory requirements Reviewing corporate entity cashflows and budgets to then submit to the GM of Finance Project participation such as the integration of newly acquired businesses or contributing to the long-term strategy of the business and managing bank relationships Undertake system improvement and implementation where necessary across the Group to ensure efficiency Overview Group month end process prepared by a team of 5 Managing a team of 1 Your Profile You will be an individual with a strong background in forever changing environments with the ability to adapt and make improvements as a part of your day to day ideally within a private equity ran environment. You must be able to demonstrate the highest levels of technical accounting from a hands-on and a management perspective, along with a preferred audit background and in particular a solid understanding of Financial Reporting standards. CA or CPA qualification and availability within short notice (1-2 weeks) are required.
A background within consumables, e-commerce or retail is highly regarded whilst being a great communicator with the intent to build strong relationships and organisational skills. You will have the ability to prioritise and work flexibly when required and be comfortable liaising with business stakeholders on team projects.
