Summary GenesisCare Oncology NSW is seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse to join our Oncology department in Concord. This role is mainly radiation oncology focused with the opportunity for expansion into medical oncology in the near future. This is a very exciting role for an enthusiastic and innovative registered nurse who is seeking to build on their current oncology experience.
In this role you will be responsible for providing best practice oncology nursing services and consistently demonstrating high standards of clinical, administrative and patient care. What you'll do: The registered nurse provides comprehensive care to the patients at GenesisCare following the principles of evidenced based best practice. Assesses and plans nursing care for the patient using GenesisCare templates Administration of medications as per GenesisCare policy and procedure Performs nursing observations as per policy and procedure Attends to nursing procedures following competency assessment and/or education.
Contemporaneous documentation of patient care Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients, family and friends Provides comprehensive patient education as per GenesisCare policy and procedure Collaborates with oncologists and the multidisciplinary team Maintains a safe and clean environment working within GenesisCare Policy and Procedure Maintains own professional development to align with AHPRA requirements Protects patients and their families by adhering to infection control policy and procedure Maintains patient and organisation confidence by adhering to policy and procedure Develop and maintain professional working relationships Resonate with the high performance GenesisCare culture Who you are: Completion of a Degree or Diploma in Nursing Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Clinical experience as a nurse and a demonstrated understanding of oncology and allied health care. Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients, families and carers Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills. Commitment to the application of quality improvement and best practice principles, including the NSQHS.
