Head of PeopleConnect

Reporting to General Manager HR Services & Operations, this role is responsible for leading our PeopleConnect team. The PeopleConnect function supports all HR generalist queries across News and is based in all the major capital cities in which we operate. You will ensure high quality and consistent HR advice is given from the team to employees.

In this role, you are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational work and service delivered by the team, including the delivery of HR projects. You are responsible for continuously identifying opportunities to further increase the efficiency of the function through automation, additional self-service or shifts of responsibility to the business. What’s the role? Establish a customer-oriented mindset, culture and ways of working in the HR Services and Operations team and reinforce the desired organisational culture Establish responsive short time framed SLAs across each area of the team and manage to them Lead the provision of high-quality HR advice and service that supports the business and results in the ongoing education of team members to ensure PeopleConnect provides the business with consistent and credible advice on all HR related enquiries including: Support with self-service and advice and resolution of basic HR queries Remuneration advice Performance and development plan advice Support with people or leader issues advice Performance management issues Tiered employee relations advice Learning/training course advice and administration Monitor and review the performance scorecard for the function, inclusive of a customer satisfaction measure Meet the needs of internal customers and ensure consistent customer service is delivered via the PeopleConnect operating model Proactively seek feedback from customers on strategies and frameworks with a focus on continuous improvement Manage the delivery of all PeopleConnect programs to meet agreed outcomes and approved financials Ensuring SOX compliance for PeopleConnect team Continuous improvement on automated of HR activities Provide and role model exceptional leadership and be a leader your team and the HR function more broadly wants to follow Build and lead a geographically dispersed, high performance, accountable team of HR and Senior HR Business Partners Manage the performance of direct reports and provide coaching for effective team management Who are you? Your experience level enables you to provide leadership to others regarding work related systems, processes and challenges Generalist HR experience with a strong understanding of employee relations and Australian labour laws Demonstrated experience in a systems/process Human Resource role Well-developed performance improvement and consultation skills Work as a leader in HR with demonstrated leadership behaviours, including active communication with the team in regard to performance, business strategy, diversity, coaching and mentoring and change management Demonstrated ability to build.
