We are looking for a Disability Support Worker to provide residential care for various clients, who are keen to work towards living independently. Working in a team, you will facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with service users in a positive and proactive environment. You will be actively supporting their individual needs and creating a safe environment.
We will be looking for a staff member that can complete a night line - up to 7 shifts per fortnight, including some weekends. Roster is set out below: Week 1 – Wed and Thurs (all nights) Week 2 – Mon/Tues/Fri/Sat/Sun (all nights) Our new team member must be highly skilled in supporting clients with complex needs, be adaptable and caring, with demonstrated experience working with clients with challenging behaviours. Key Responsibilities Support clients to work towards achieving their individual aims Support in day to day living, promoting cooking, housekeeping, hygiene, shopping etc.
Support clients to build their confidence Liaise and collaborate with clients, their community and community support agencies Monitor and review client’s progress through the service and against the case plan Utilise positive behaviour strategies Maintenance of progress notes and record keeping Skills & Experience Certificate III in Disability Support or similar Current Senior First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain) Positively engage, interact and work with people who have complex needs including a psycho-social disabilities Well-developed verbal and written communication skills Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle Experience supporting clients in AOD services would be advantageous Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check.
