Position Title: Cook Reports to: Director Position Summary : Preparing and cooking to order a variety of Italian dishes. Education/Experience: Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) and two years relevant work experience or at least three years relevant work experience Position Requirements: Good planning and organisation skills Good arithmetic skills Ability to work in a team cooperatively Keen sense of taste and smell Initiative Ability to remain calm in hectic circumstances Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Ordering and receiving food supplies and ingredients 2.
Developing menus 3. Reading customer orders 4. Ensuring timely preparation of meals 5.
Preparing and cooking a variety of Italian dishes. 6.Cooking food on grills, hotplates and in ovens 7.
Baking, roasting, boiling, and steaming meats, poultry, fish, vegetables and other foods. 8. Observing and testing that food has been cooked sufficiently by tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
9.Placing and garnishing food on plates 10.Storing unused food in refrigerators and freezers 11.
Cleaning and maintaining kitchen area and equipment. 12. Training other kitchen staff.
