Merchandise Planner - Menswear - Trenery

The Role We have a fantastic opportunity for a Merchandise Planner to join the Trenery team, looking after our Menswear portfolio. Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will hold accountability for stock management and forecasting key business KPI’s to deliver the company financial targets for the Menswear category. Please note, this is a 12 month fixed term contract position.

Key Responsibilities Establish budgets for sales, markdowns, purchases, stock levels, stock turn, margin % and margin dollars Facilitate the weekly trading meetings by providing analysis and recommendations to achieve Sales, GP & Stock targets In season trading, review and recommend forward forecasts on sales, markdowns, stock, stock turn, margin, purchases and gross profit Management and training of a Junior Planner and Planning Analyst Prepare and contribute towards SWOT and post seasonal review meetings and any forward strategy meetings in conjunction with the product team Ensure availability of key volume lines through item planning tools and effectively working with the product teams and sourcing to ensure on time delivery of good Produce seasonal range plans and work closely with the design team to ensure that we have the correct balance of options in the range that deliver the correct option mix with the appropriate pricing architecture that delivers the divisional margin targets Management of the OTB for the Menswear division, including buying/ranging by store grid and quantification by style Oversee allocation grids / profiles by category. Work closely with VM and Retail, ensuring that we have the correct stock levels in stores. Liaise with regional managers on store needs, stock transfers and gridding of stores, plus identify and drive opportunities at store level.

Plan for new store openings The Ideal Candidate has Demonstrated experience working within the Merchandise Planning space Previous experience coaching and mentoring team members, with proven success in driving development and succession planning Possesses a relevant tertiary qualification Developed exceptional numerical and analytical skills, coupled with a strong retail and commercial acumen Team focus, and thrives in a collaborative and dynamic environment An ability to meet deadlines and work within a fast paced environment whilst balancing competing interests Developed excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to influence stakeholders across internally and externally Why work for us ?
