Redlands Location Local Government 6 Months Assignment with view to extension Our client within local Government is seeking a well experienced Assessment Engineer for a long term temporary assignment in the Redlands area to contribute to the intergrated, responsive and effective delivery of engineering assessment of development applications, the monitoring of development permits and the provision of expert engineering advice to all stakeholders with the goal of facilitating high quality, efficient and sustainable development in the Redlands. In this role you will; Undertake the assessment of planning applications and Operational Works applications for development applications to achieve outcomes in accordance with Council's goals and the community's expectations. Provide expert engineering assessment of development applications and professional advice to internal and external stakeholders aimed at delivering high-quality, consistent and sustainable outcomes that comply with engineering best practice and meet corporate and community needs.
Prepare reports and written advice, coordinate and negotiate infrastructure works, contributions and agreements, monitor permit conditions and operation works and determine the acceptance or otherwise of contributed assets in accordance with the requirments of SPA and Council's adopted instruments and policies. Contribute to the efficient and effective functioning of the engineering unit and foster a commitment to quality and professionalism by researching contemporary and emerging trends in engineering to maintain and enhance professional credentials and by mentoring and supporting team members and by fostering a culture of continuous improvement of work processes and technological systems to achieve sustainable and cost effective outcomes. Provide excellent customer service when dealing with all stakeholders in the development process to ensure service delivery and standards achieve outcomes in accordance with negotiated Service Level Agreements (SLA).
To be considered for this role you require; a Civil Engineering Degree, a current C Class drivers licence and a Criminal History check prior to appointment. Additionally you will need to have demonstrated extensive, professional knowledge and experience in all aspects of engineering design including; earthworks, roadworks, water supply, sewerage reticulation, storm water hydraulics/drainage, sediment and erosion control. Sound knowledge and understanding of Queensland development assessment legislative framework.
