Senior Innovation Specialist
About the role As the Senior Innovation Specialist you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end Innovation Initiatives. Reporting in to the Innovation Lead, you will be staffed on various initiatives, working collaboratively across the broader Innovation Centre team, while displaying a willingness to "jump in" and deliver team outcomes. You will assist in providing mentoring, coaching and support to the Innovation Specialists, in addition to supporting the Innovation Lead in the day to day direction, guidance and support of the multidisciplinary Design Crew.
With the support of the Innovation Lead, you will take an operational lead in the delivery of innovation initiatives leveraging the Innovation Centre processes and tools, including: Perform primary research, including focused interviews with WorkSafe clients, customers and SMEs Perform secondary research to explore potential opportunities (e.g. Desktop Research) Assist in the preparation and facilitation of co-design and prototyping workshops involving clients and customers Organise and lead ideation sessions to identify and assess potential solutions Leverage rapid prototyping tools and techniques to test and iterate solutions Organise, launch and monitor pilots to test Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) with clients and assess early benefits Please ensure you take a look at the Position Description provided for additional information on accountabilities for this role.
About you You are a resilient project professional, with significant experience in managing and delivering innovation projects. You are a creative thinker, who displays highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the proven capability to build and maintain productive working relationships across a range of stakeholders. Proven ability to manage projects with a high level of ambiguity and to lead/support teams through ambiguity to deliver positive outcomes Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, and upskilling people in design/innovation methods and an ability to encourage and support new ways of working Experience working in an external innovation/design agency or in-house team where you have been required to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders Demonstrated experience applying Human Centred Design methods and best practices Proven ability to experiment by leveraging prototyping tools and techniques to explore new service and product concepts Degree in Design, Business, Human Sciences, Software Engineering or other relevant field.
