Conroy Removals was established in Napier in 1972.
We both owned furniture moving trucks and operated from our family home where our mother took the calls and made the bookings.
Our ambition was to establish a transport company dedicated to the safe and careful movement of household goods for clients moving home. We derived great satisfaction in working closely with our clients and helping during what is often a stressful and anxious time.
Growing the business was not part of original intentions though it soon happened with equipment and personnel being acquired to meet growing demands. Later branches in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Tauranga and Nelson were added to provide greater geographical coverage. With the addition of international moving to our portfolio and the popularity of Australia as a destination, a tentative move was made into the Brisbane area. This soon developed into a significant representation and further branches were established in Townsville, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
Today we operate as a truly Australasian moving company and while much has changed since our humble beginnings we have never lost sight of our core values and customer focus. This will never change.
The Conroy Way
This is the name we give to the way we want to do business, which is to be honourable in all dealings. Moving house isn’t fun at any stage of life. We want Australians to know they aren’t dealing with backyard operators, that we take care of their move for the price quoted.
This is easy to say, so we back it up with a world first. We gave our customers the ability to post feedback on our website: good, bad or ugly. Being upfront and transparent in all our dealings is the reason we now have offices across Australia.
