Environment and Defect Manager

Finite is looking for a Environment and Defect Manager to join a Government Team. CBD - Contract till End of August Seeking a qualified technical manager to coordinate test environments for multiple application development groups. Test environments for both isolated subsystems and end-to-end environments are configured using a mixture of cloud-based infrastructure and bare metal systems by a team responsible for release automation and configuration management.

Test environments support a continuous release schedule across multiple groups. Platforms supported include Java, IMB Webspehere, ESB etc. and a number of dynamic languages all running on applications servers integrated with several relational databases running DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server.

Test environment managers will interact with project managers, operations professionals, and senior technical engineering managers to sequence projects for testing on a limited number of testing environments. • The ideal candidate will have 5 years of environment management experience (preferably in Government Departments) • Excellent verbal and written communication • Organised and able to meet deadlines • Effectively summarise and communicate issues and risks between technical and business people • Ability to estimate work effort required to bring environments to readiness • Focus on scheduling accuracy with the ability to keep environment calendar up to date • Proven experience managing and delivering services in complex heterogeneous, fast paced environments where ambiguity or contention in support requirements is often present • Knowledge of continuous Integration and delivery pipelines • Excellent communication skills, planning and coordination skills • Experience in release and environment management at the enterprise level both in automating and in monitoring builds, and in software configuration management. • Enjoy a highly complex technical environment and ability to facilitate the environments based on project demands.

• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective relationships. • Ability to communicate with stakeholders: Project management, Test Manager, development teams, QA, Infra and engineering teams • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a variety of competing tasks Does the above role sound like you, Apply with us (JobCode S67).
