Aboriginal Health Promotion Coordinator
Opportunity to travel throughout WA Build capacity within local Aboriginal communities to enhance health Award 3 level pay Seeking an experienced project coordinator to deliver a health promotion project to Aboriginal communities. Your new company This well-established client provides Health Promotion projects within the local community. They are passionate about health and to deliver education and knowledge to people in Western Australia.
They are involved in various community activities as well as research within health. Your new role You will be coordinating a health promotion project delivering education to Aboriginal consumers as well as Aboriginal Health Professionals. Your new role includes all duties relating to project management / coordination such as developing resources, tools / systems suitable to the audience, coordinate logistics, book venues, grand applications and the scheduling of administrative tasks.
Your new role also includes Aboriginal community engagement and ensuring that program activities and delivery is culturally appropriate. You will provide support to team-members and aid in the facilitation of workshops. What you'll need to succeed You will have a strong admin/ project management background and ability to foresee and predict potential opportunities or issues.
You are able to engage local Aboriginal communities to attend workshops and educational sessions. You have previously worked within project management in a health setting and you understand program delivery principles and how to appropriately engage Aboriginal communities. You have a deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and you demonstrate knowledge regarding the issues and barriers experienced by Aboriginals in remote areas as they relate to health.
You are competent in Microsoft Office and Referencing Software. You confidently communicate with various Health Professionals and local consumers and you are very autonomous. You will have the opportunity to travel throughout WA to facilitate workshops and engage with local communities. You will have access to company cars and receive a Level 3 award pay. You will be contracted for 18 months pending funding.
